Chapter 159: Gold & Diamonds
Caleb’s eyes widened.
"I―"
"You’d better head back and check through every operation that has fallen under your supervision ever since you took over W&W," Will Walton warned. "Your marriage with Amelia Kentwood has taught you nothing."
Caleb’s face darkened as he clenched his hands into tight fists. "We were poor―"
"And yet Amelia Kentwood turned out to be the granddaughter of the richest man in Solara," Will said, cutting his son off again. "You had solid gold in your hands while you went in search of diamonds― just because something sparkles and shines doesn’t mean it holds value in the long run. Same thing goes for the Friesents."
There was nothing Caleb could do but purse his lips. His expression turned dark but Will Walton did not care one bit. He was far from done.
"The goal of today’s visit was to rekindle you and Amelia Kentwood’s marriage," Will Walton said. "How did you manage to butcher something so simple? Did you not claim that she was head over heels in love with you?"
"She is!" Caleb exclaimed. Then, he slumped back down. "Or at least, she was."
"X’el Incorporated had wanted the partnership with Rutherworkes back then badly. For Matteo Montgomery to say no to it, there must be something wrong with the project," Will Walton then muttered. He brought his finger to his lips. "You’ve seen how he is. That man is a genius in the business world."
