Apocalypse Days: I Rule with Foresight and a Powerful Son

Chapter 150

The quarantine cell—moments after the green eyed man left...

Zara stood frozen in the middle of the sterile room, her breath shallow, heart hammering. The air felt thick, pressing in on her chest, the walls closing in. Every muscle in her body was coiled tight, like a spring wound too far, ready to snap.

She clenched her fists, willing them to stop trembling. Breathe, damn it. She shouldn’t be shaken like this. Shouldn’t be this unsteady. He got to me. The realization sent a bolt of anger through her, but it was swallowed up by the creeping unease curling around her ribs.

"Strange, those visions of yours."

The words replayed in her mind, looping endlessly, burrowing deeper with each repetition. The words echoed, rattling through her skull, refusing to settle. He knows. About her and possibly about Leo. The thought made her dizzy with fear. He hadn’t just suspected like winter had assured her. He had spoken with certainty, with knowledge. As if he had already seen inside her head, peeled back the layers and examined them with detached curiosity.

But how?

Sam shifted beside her, his presence steady but quiet. He wasn’t saying anything, but she could feel his eyes on her—watching, waiting. He wasn’t pushing her, but his silence made the tension in the room heavier.

She inhaled sharply through her nose and forced herself to move, rolling her shoulders to shake the stiffness from her limbs. When she turned to face him, her voice came out steadier than she expected.

"Who is he?"

Sam exhaled through his nose, his jaw tightening. He didn’t answer immediately, which only made her more suspicious.

"Sam." She took a step toward him, eyes narrowing. "You know something. Tell me."
