Defying the Rogue Alpha

Chapter 186: patience

Ava settled over him, straddling him slowly, her knees pressing into the mattress on either side of his hips. She moved with measured patience, her eyes never breaking from his as she sandwiched him between her thighs. The connection between them was magnetic, warm, impossible to ignore.

"I’m sorry, Big Man," she murmured sultrily and slid herself down on him. She reached out, placing her hands on his shoulders, feeling the familiar tension of muscle beneath her palms. She loved how he felt; solid, safe, hers.

"If you do a good job, I’ll consider forgiving you," he replied, trying to hold back a groan, his hands sliding to her hips. He wasn’t as immune to her as he pretended to be. Not even close.

Ava began to move, gently and slowly, her rhythm unhurried as if savoring every second. Her touch was a whispered apology. "I love you, Alpha Lucas Raventhorn," she said.

Lucas clenched his jaw, his hands gripping her a little tighter. His heart, that battle-scarred muscle, swelled at her words. Somehow, even when she was being bratty, even when she was threatening to throttle him with her fury, she still knew how to reach inside him and touch the parts no one else dared.

"Is that all I am to you? Your Alpha?" he ground out. He needed to know...needed to hear that she didn’t just love the title, but the man who bore it.

Ava leaned in, pressing a kiss to his neck, her breath hot against his skin. "My husband..." she moaned.

"Uhn uhn..." he said, lips twitching at her attempt to appease him.

"My king..." she breathed again, her pace matching the steady thump of his heart beneath her.

"Yeah?" His head tilted back, a groan escaping his throat as he drank in her devotion.

"My mate..."
