Chapter 100: Seething
Sarah, unfazed by his anger, planted her hands on her hips and glared at him. "I don’t give a shit right now, Dorian!" she snapped. "You will make me Lucas’s Luna, and you will do it soon!"
Dorian leaned back in his chair, studying her. She was seething, her chest rising and falling as she struggled to rein in her fury. She was dressed like a woman on a mission. A tight black dress clung to her every curve, highlighting the body that she so clearly wanted Lucas to fuck. Her dark hair was curled and swept to one side, exposing the delicate slope of her neck.
She had come here expecting a night in Lucas’s bed, not standing in his house, screaming at him.
"Where is he?" Dorian asked suddenly, setting his drink down and leaning forward.
Sarah crossed her arms. "He left," she said bitterly. "Said he had ’business’ to take care of. And then the damn guards escorted me out after he was gone! Me! I should be sleeping in his bed right now, but no...Ava is gone, and she’s still messing with my life!"
Dorian ran his tongue along his teeth, considering her words. Lucas had abandoned this? She was practically served up on a silver platter, desperate and willing. And yet, he had walked away.
Lucas was up to something.
Dorian’s gaze flickered downward, past Sarah’s furious expression to the deep dip of her neckline. The dress was practically painted onto her, the fabric straining against her ample curves. He imagined she had chosen it for Lucas, a last-ditch effort to remind him of what he was missing.
He stood and stalked toward her.
"I can’t make you Luna," he said. "But I am working on making Ava disappear for good. Just like my son."
Sarah’s lips parted slightly, but before she could speak, Dorian tilted his head, allowing his gaze to trail down the length of her body, drinking in every inch of her.
