Chapter 540 - 540: The Next Morning
Morning arrived with the harsh artificial lights of the ship's medical ward switching over to their daytime cycle. Xavier lay on the narrow elevated bed with Lyra completely tangled against his chest as they finally rested.
They had fucked all night long, letting her newly mutated demonic biology burn through its excess energy as she rode him repeatedly until they had both passed out from sheer exhaustion.
Lyra stirred against his side and stretched her legs, groaning slightly as her sore muscles protested after hours of relentless pounding.
They eventually got up and dragged themselves into the adjoining washroom to take a hot shower together, washing the dried sweat and cum off their bodies while sharing a few more lazy kisses under the scalding water.
While he dried himself off, Xavier pulled up his system interface and noticed a new notification waiting for him in the Essence System tab.
[ Available Essence - 1 (Lykaios) ]
By absorbing Lyra's pussy juices and energy throughout the night, he had successfully extracted and integrated the Lykaios Essence.
The system confirmed he could now utilize the physical traits of her species and even fully transform into a Lykaios if the situation required it.
He dismissed the glowing screen and pulled on a fresh set of dark clothes before handing Lyra a spare shirt and trousers.
They walked out of the medical sector and headed straight for the ship's main dining area to get some breakfast. Reva was already sitting at the corner metal table with a plate of synthesized food and a cup of black coffee.
She looked up as they walked in, and her crimson eyes immediately zeroed in on the heavy flush still lingering on Lyra's cheeks while noticing the slight limp in her step as she moved across the room.
Reva took a sip of her coffee and smirked. "Looks like someone had a lot of fun last night."
Lyra blushed deeply and sat down on the bench without saying a word, keeping her eyes glued to the metal tabletop as she tried to hide her embarrassment.
Xavier grabbed a food tray from the dispenser and sat down next to Lyra as he looked right back at Reva. "You had your fun yesterday too, so you do not get to judge."
Reva rolled her eyes and set her mug down on the table with a loud clank. "I feel incredibly conflicted right now. I feel like I just lost an innocent little sister because she got completely tainted by a horny and lustful kid."
Xavier let out an amused laugh as he bit into his food. "She was the one pinning me to the bed and begging for it, and her new demonic traits made her incredibly aggressive. I was just helping her burn off all that extra energy."
Reva shook her head in disbelief as Lyra hid her flushed face behind her hands.
Lyra kept her eyes glued to her plate while she pushed her synthesized food around with a fork to avoid looking at Reva. Reva just watched her with a highly amused smirk before shifting her crimson eyes toward Xavier to change the subject back to their actual operations.
"Angel sent a secure transmission an hour ago while you two were busy," Reva said as she leaned her elbows on the metal table. "Her engineering team finally finished the full overhaul on your ship. The Helion Forge A-92 Strider is completely upgraded and ready for launch. She was talking about the payment so have a chat with her once you are free."
Xavier took a sip of his coffee and swallowed the bitter liquid. "Where did you dock the ship, by the way?"
"They are moving the ship into the outer atmosphere right now. It will be anchored securely at the outer orbital station of Jupiter by noon, so we can board it directly from there without dealing with any planetary traffic or Vanguard patrols."
"Yeah, that's better," Xavier said as he wiped his mouth and tossed his napkin onto the empty tray. "But before we gather the crew and leave Jupiter entirely, I need to tie up one massive loose end on the surface."
Lyra finally looked up from her meal. "What loose ends?"
"Klatos," Xavier answered. "The thing I ripped apart yesterday was a shapeshifting beast from the Demonic Society wearing his face, which means the real Klatos is either dead or missing. I need to find out exactly what happened to him before we leave Jupiter."
He stood up from the bench and stretched his back. "Rin and I are taking a fast transport straight down to the borders of the Ashfall Verge. That is where the AIL carrier originally ambushed us, and if Klatos left any kind of trail behind, it starts right there."
Reva nodded and picked up her mug again. "I will let Rin know to gear up and meet you at the hangar. Go find your guy."
Xavier left the dining area and headed straight for the ship's lower hangar bay. Rin was already waiting by a sleek atmospheric transport shuttle with his twin swords strapped securely across his back. He leaned against the boarding ramp while running a polishing cloth over the dark steel of a drawn blade.
"Reva gave me the rundown," Rin said as he slid the sword back into its sheath with a metallic click. "Klatos… what happened to him? We are looking for a dead man."
"The demon took Klatos's face right after the AIL carrier shot our hover out of the sky," Xavier replied and walked up the ramp into the cabin. " Then, we were pulled into the AIL carrier, and there I fought some AIL things and killed the chairman… or whatever it was. I left Klatos there. So it means they intercepted him somewhere between the crash site, so we start at the wreckage."
They boarded the transport and settled into the pilot cabin as Rin initiated the launch sequence. The shuttle detached from Kylus's ship and plummeted straight toward the massive swirling clouds of Jupiter.
