Chapter 314: Framed 2
Remo’s mind raced as he looked between Abby, bleeding and trembling, and Nicole, standing in shock, her hands stained with blood. The scene was chaotic, a nightmare unfolding in slow motion, and for a moment, he was frozen, unsure of what to believe.
Abby’s soft whimpers broke through his haze. "Remo... please," she whispered, reaching out toward him, her face pale and her body weak from the wound. "Help me..."
Without hesitation, Remo rushed to her side, kneeling down to support her as he examined the knife still lodged in her abdomen. His heart pounded with panic, his breath shallow as he tried to assess how serious her injury was. Blood was seeping through her clothes, staining the pristine kitchen floor, but she was still conscious—barely.
"Hang on, Abby, I’m calling an ambulance," Remo muttered, his voice shaking as he fumbled for his phone.
Behind him, Nicole finally found her voice, her shock giving way to a mixture of horror and anger. "No! Remo, you have to listen to me! She did this to herself! She grabbed the knife, and—"
Remo whipped his head around, his eyes blazing with fury. "Are you insane?!" he roared, his face inches from Nicole’s, who flinched at the venom in his tone. "I walk in here, and you’ve got blood all over your hands, and you want me to believe she did this to herself?!" His voice was thick with disbelief, rage barely contained.
Nicole’s eyes filled with tears as she frantically shook her head, stepping back in terror. "You don’t understand! She’s manipulating you, Remo! She’s—"
Abby let out a soft sob, interrupting Nicole’s frantic explanation. "Why are you lying?" she whimpered, her voice trembling as she clutched her side. "I tried to make peace... but you... you wanted to hurt me..."
Remo’s heart twisted at the sight of Abby in pain, the woman he had sworn to protect now bleeding in his arms. He turned back to her, his anger softening into concern as he held her close. "It’s going to be okay, Abby. I’ll get you to the hospital. Just hold on."
