The Twisted Obsession

Chapter 311: Warning

Abby’s heels clicked rhythmically on the polished marble floor as she made her way through the grand foyer of Nicole’s luxurious penthouse. The walls, adorned with contemporary art, echoed the elegance of the space. As she reached the door, she paused, straightened her dress, and took a deep breath before knocking. She had rehearsed this encounter in her mind countless times, perfecting the balance between charm and veiled threat. Today, she would make sure Nicole understood just how important Remo was to her.

A few moments later, the door swung open to reveal Nicole, dressed casually in a silk robe, her expression a mix of surprise and curiosity. "Abby," she greeted, a hint of wariness in her voice. "This is unexpected. What brings you here?"

Abby offered her a bright, seemingly genuine smile, her eyes warm and inviting. "I was in the neighborhood and thought I’d drop by for a chat. I hope I’m not interrupting anything?"

Nicole hesitated for a moment before stepping aside, allowing Abby to enter. "Not at all. Please, come in."

The two women made their way to the sitting area, where Nicole gestured for Abby to take a seat on the plush sofa. The room was tastefully decorated, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a breathtaking view of the city skyline. Abby took a moment to appreciate the decor, the calmness of the setting belying the storm brewing beneath her composed exterior.

Nicole poured two glasses of wine, handing one to Abby before sitting across from her. "To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?" she asked, taking a sip of her drink, her tone casual yet guarded.

Abby twirled the stem of her glass between her fingers, her smile never faltering. "I just wanted to catch up. It’s been a while since we last spoke, and I thought it might be nice to reconnect. After all, we share a common bond, don’t we?"

Nicole raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Abby’s sudden friendliness. "And what bond might that be?"

"Remo, of course," Abby replied, her tone light, almost playful. "He’s very important to both of us."
