The Twisted Obsession

Chapter 274: A day of triumph

Abby stared at herself in the mirror, her eyes scanning every inch of her reflection with meticulous precision. The vanity lights cast a soft, flattering glow, but it was her red lipstick that stole the spotlight. She twisted the tube slowly, watching as the vibrant color emerged, a stark contrast to her pale complexion. With steady hands, she began to apply it, her lips parting slightly as she traced the perfect crimson line around their edges. Her lips pulled up into a sinister smile, a look that transformed her entire face.

"Perfect," she whispered, her voice a low purr. This was no ordinary day. Today was her uncle’s funeral—a day of reckoning, a day of vindication. She had finally avenged her parents’ deaths with the help of her beloved husband, Remo.

The memories of her childhood rushed back, a flood of pain and terror. Her uncle and the rest of her family had tormented her, taking pleasure in her suffering. They had killed her parents, leaving her to grow up in a world of fear and neglect. But no longer. Today marked the end of that Chapter, the final act of her revenge.

As she continued to stare at her reflection, Abby felt a shift within herself, a splitting of her identity that she had come to know well. On one side of the mirror stood the Abby who had been a docile, bullied, shy wallflower—her eyes downcast, her shoulders hunched in defeat. This Abby was a ghost of her former self, a shadow of the girl who had once been powerless and afraid.

But on the other side of the mirror was a different Abby—a woman who had embraced her darkness, who had harnessed the pain and turned it into a weapon. This Abby was domineering and sinister, her eyes gleaming with a cold, calculated malice. Her smile was sharp, almost predatory, as she admired the final touches of her makeup.

"Why are you doing this?" the timid Abby whispered, her eyes wide with confusion and fear. "This isn’t who we are. We don’t hurt people."

The sinister Abby sneered, her expression hardening. "You’re weak. You always have been. That’s why they hurt us, why they killed our parents. They thought we were nothing, just a scared little girl who would never fight back."

The timid Abby’s eyes filled with tears. "But revenge won’t bring them back. It won’t change what happened."

"No," the sinister Abby agreed, her voice cold and unyielding. "But it makes sure they pay. It makes sure they know that we’re not weak anymore."
