Chapter 216: Another chance
"Hmmm—-as much as I love others complimenting my wife, I don’t like others ogling at her. It makes me want to gouge out their eyes for staring at what’s mine with their awful, lustful gaze," Remo’s voice cut through the air, surprising Alex. Who the hell was this man?! His aura was crazy. No, he was crazy.
Alex’s eyebrows shot up in surprise at Remo’s blunt statement. Who was this man, and what gave him the right to speak with such possessiveness over Abby? The intensity in Remo’s voice and the fierce determination in his eyes made it clear that he wasn’t someone to be underestimated.
A sense of unease settled over Alex as he glanced between Remo and Abby, the realization sinking in that he was treading on dangerous ground. Remo’s aura was overwhelming, his presence commanding attention and respect in equal measure.
As Alex struggled to find the right words to respond, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he had just crossed paths with a force of nature that was beyond his understanding. Whatever Remo’s intentions were, one thing was clear – he was not a man to be trifled with.
With a nervous nod, Alex offered a weak smile, his mind racing with thoughts of how to navigate the delicate situation before him. He knew that he would have to tread carefully if he wanted to avoid provoking the ire of this formidable man who seemed to hold Abby’s heart in his grasp.
As Remo uttered the curt word, "Good," and turned away, taking his glass of whiskey with him, Alex felt a surge of anger rise within him. His jaw clenched tight as he watched Remo walk back to Abby, his demeanor composed yet radiating an undeniable air of authority.
Who did this man think he was, speaking about Abby as if she were his property? The possessiveness in Remo’s tone only served to fuel Alex’s determination to reclaim Abby as his own.
With clenched fists and a jaw set in determination, Alex watched as Remo walked back to Abby. The sight of them together, so effortlessly comfortable in each other’s presence, only served to stoke the flames of Alex’s frustration.
He hated challenges more than anything, and the thought of having to compete with a man like Remo for Abby’s affections filled him with a burning desire to prove himself worthy. He refused to be outdone, refused to let Remo stand in the way of what he wanted.
