The Twisted Obsession

Chapter 117: Don’t leave

As the chaos of the carnival continued to swirl around her, Abby’s world collapsed into a whirlwind of grief and despair. Tears streamed down her cheeks in a torrential downpour as she clung desperately to her father’s lifeless form, her cries echoing into the tumultuous night.

"Please, Daddy, wake up!" she sobbed, her voice hoarse with anguish. "Don’t leave me, please!"

But there was no response, no comforting hand to wipe away her tears or reassuring voice to calm her fears. Charles lay motionless in her arms, his eyes closed in eternal slumber, forever beyond her reach.

In that moment, Abby felt utterly alone, as if the world had crumbled beneath her feet, leaving her stranded in a sea of grief and sorrow. She had lost both her parents now, without warning or explanation, leaving her to navigate the tumultuous waters of life all on her own.

The weight of her loneliness bore down on her with crushing force, threatening to suffocate her with its suffocating embrace. She had never felt so utterly lost and abandoned, adrift in a world that suddenly seemed so cold and indifferent.

Her heart shattered into a million pieces as she realized that she was truly alone now, without the love and guidance of her parents to anchor her in this stormy sea of life. She had no siblings to share her burden, no family to turn to for comfort and support.

All she had left was the memory of her parents, a fading echo of the love they had shared, and the emptiness that now consumed her heart

Remo, his usually confident demeanor faltering, approached Abby with a look of deep concern etched on his face. He reached out to touch her trembling shoulder, but she recoiled from his touch as if his hand were made of fire.

"Don’t touch me," she spat, her voice raw with pain and accusation. "This is your fault. You promised to protect us, but you failed. You let him die!"

Her words hung heavy in the air, a cruel reminder of the pain and loss they both shared. Remo’s expression crumbled, his own grief mingling with guilt as Abby’s accusations pierced him like a dagger to the heart. He had failed her father, just as he had failed his own mother, and the weight of that failure threatened to crush him beneath its unbearable burden.

Abby was relentless in her pain, her anger fueling her cruel words as she lashed out at the one person who had always been there for her. "You’re nothing but a coward," she spat, her voice dripping with venom. "You couldn’t even protect your own mother, and now you’ve taken my father from me too. I hate you!"

Remo’s heart shattered into a million irreparable pieces at her words, his own grief mingling with the searing pain of her betrayal. He had loved her father as if he were his own, and the thought of failing him was a wound that would never fully heal.
