Chapter 63: Movie night
Remo agreed with a nod, and Abby headed to the kitchen to fetch the ice cream he had bought for her.
Remo watched Abby disappear into the kitchen, a fond smile lingering on his lips. As she rummaged through the freezer for the ice cream, Remo took the opportunity to pick out a movie from their collection, aiming to set the mood just right for the cozy night ahead.
He flipped through the DVDs, his gaze lingering on titles that held memories of lazy Sundays and quiet evenings spent together. Finally, he settled on a classic romantic comedy, hoping Abby would like it.
With the movie queued up, Remo leaned back against the cushions waiting for her.
As Abby returned with the ice cream, Remo couldn’t help but admire the way her eyes sparkled with anticipation. Handing him a bowl, she settled in beside him, the warmth of her presence filling him with a sense of contentment.
"Looks like we’re all set," Remo remarked, a grin tugging at the corners of his lips as he pressed play on the remote.
Abby nodded, spooning a generous portion of ice cream into her mouth as the opening credits rolled across the screen.
Remo found himself drawn to Abby in a different way during the movie, admiring her subtle reactions to the scenes playing out on the screen. Her laughter, her furrowed brows during tense moments, and the way her eyes lit up with excitement captivated him more than the movie itself.
Unable to resist the urge to tease her, Remo leaned in closer, his voice barely above a whisper. "You know, Abby, I can’t decide what’s more entertaining – the movie or your reactions to it."
