Bride To His Darkness

Chapter 350: Guest From The Palace

—---

In the secret underground chamber, Carmela observed with concentrated eyes as her coven members stitched up the decapitated body of Marius. The scent of incense hung heavily in the air as the ritual unfolded, and Carmela couldn’t help but rub her skin subconsciously, just watching the needles go through Marius’s flesh to connect with the other.

Her guards have been able to recover the body of Marius, and the only way to wake him up was fulfilling a ritual with the help of her coven. They had his body laid on the symbol on the cold floor, and the stitching process began successfully.

As the last stitch was secured, Carmela could finally breathe, and her eyes gleamed with a sinister satisfaction. Marius’s body lay lifeless before them, but without its head, his body remained a mere vessel.

Carmela’s jaw clenched at the thought of them having his head in their possession, and retrieving it back will be no different from knocking on death’s door.

The challenge of reviving Marius without his crucial components lingered heavily in the air, and one of the witches kept the needle aside. She had a look of disapproval on her face while gazing at the sewn body, and she turned her head to Carmela who appeared lost in one of her evil ideas yet again.

"Wanting your throne back is understandable." The witch with a young face as Carmela’s softly began. She too had her own ego, and that was making sure the ruler of the land came from her coven. "You’re powerful enough to handle this by yourself, aren’t you not? Why do you still have to play with this demon? He is not to be trusted, he will bring you to the mud if you make him part of your plans again."

The other four nodded their heads in affirmation, their faces hidden behind the dark purple cloaks they wore. Carmela smiled wickedly as she contemplated their advice, and she shrugged to it before allowing her hand to caress Marius’s unmoved arm.

"What you speak of is true, and I don’t intend to make Marius stay in this world for long." Carmela assured them, "he lied to me from the very beginning, using my weak point to keep me glued to him. He told me she was nothing more than an orb to him, he told me he only needed her powers, and I fell for it. I suspected there was more to his obsession, but I avoided it deliberately, wanting to become blind to reason but not anymore."
