Chapter 283: He Abandoned You
When Marius walked into the chamber, as it had been two nights gone since he last saw her, he decided to visit his quarters where he kept her locked, wanting to confirm if the beauty had awoken or if it was time to wake her up himself. He never knew the spell would hold this much effect, so much so that two nights had passed her by, and she hasn’t woken up yet.
The room was draped in shadows when his silhouette, almost a waltz of darkness, stepped into the room. As he glided across the floor, a predatory grace marking each silent fall, his eyes darted to the curtains that were left open. Registering the fact that he had closed the curtains himself before leaving, his eyes moved to the bed that was presently empty of her presence, whilst it conveyed her rise from her deep slumbers, and that made his lips curl deviously.
Unbeknownst to him, the woman cowered behind the half open door, her breath held in anxious anticipation.
A flicker of uncertainty danced in the dimness, whilst he stilled, his obsidian eyes narrowing. Sensing Samantha’s presence behind him, he turned with an eerie precision. Before she could unleash the chair she clutched in desperation, his hand shot out, effortlessly catching her arm mid-swing.
"Is this how you choose to welcome me?" Her violent actions, though unexpected, had piqued his interest, and his Sierra was never a violent type. Was this proof that the rebirth of a lost soul usually returned with a completely different personality? His Sierra would never once think of wiping him with a chair, she considered it an abomination.
"Do I have to start all over and make you realize your place, just like before? When I had you in my grasp?" He took the chair from her grip and closed the distance between them.
"My precious Jewel."
The room seemed to hold its breath as their eyes met. His dark hair framed a face that was both alluring and unsettling– a sculpted masterpiece that belonged solely to the shadows. The obsidian eyes, pool of mystery, gleamed with an otherworldly intensity that betrayed the unnatural being before her.
As he held her delicate arm in his firm grip, the subtle play of shadows danced upon his face, revealing just enough to captivate her imagination. In that brief moment of stillness, Samantha couldn’t help but feel the need to keep her distance, a simultaneous alarm and apprehension taking over, whilst she jerked her arm free and moved four steps back, keeping a safe distance between the unfamiliar man standing in front of her.
