Chapter 245: Midnight Intruder
—
"Why on Earth did you go down there??"
Carmela was at the verge of erupting at the Demon who was seated in his library, the glowing crystal placed on the table before him. Unlike Carmela who seemed to be in the middle of a quick rampage, the demon sitting at the table appeared nonchalantly calm.
His closed eyes eased with content, and his fingers drummed rhythmically on the surface of the table, the other, settling on his cheek, his elbow propped on the table.
He seemed to be absorbed in his own world, giving zero percent of his attention to Carmela’s continuous nagging. All he could think about was the face of his wife he had seen, his gorgeous wife, his one and only goddess...and all these years, the many decades, centuries that has passed, it felt impossible to bring her back but somehow, that useless Muzan had turned out useful, since he is the reason his wife had been reborn to Earth.
Nothing about her has changed, she looked exactly the same, like his goddess Sierra.
"You nearly ruined everything all because of your stupid possession to that human orb! Are you listening to me?" The irritating voice of Carmela snapped him out of his peaceful daydream. Opening his eyes, they visibly narrowed with a flash of fury, and in the blink of an eye, he was in front of Carmela, his fingers wrapping around her neck as he slammed her onto the wall, but he didn’t use force– mainly to avoid damaging her weak spine.
Carmela could feel the air being knocked out of her lungs, and the anger in his eyes had frightened her to the extent she could no longer speak. Her gaze displayed her fear, and when his obsidian-black eyes penetrated into her own, she almost let out a frightened squeak.
"Don’t you ever," he growled, intentionally taking a pause, "tell me what I should or shouldn’t do. If this disrespect repeats itself again, forget about speaking, I won’t spare your vocal cords." Releasing her neck so she could breathe, he scowled at her figure before he angrily stormed out of his library, leaving the woman to painfully gasp for air.
Carmela watched his figure retreat from the library, and her body shook when doors slammed after his exit. Rising to her trembling feet, Carmela was awestruck since this would be the first time he dared lay his hands on her, but the aura he emitted a few seconds ago– he would have killed her.
Was this the man she married or someone else?
