Bride To His Darkness

Chapter 179: Truth Of The Night

Did her ears hear right or did she just imagine she heard what she thinks she might have heard? No! She must have heard it wrongly, or maybe she misinterpreted her words and there could be some misunderstanding, but, no matter how hard she tried to find ways to make her see Lady Agathe’s confession in a different light, it was of no use because horrifically, she had heard her say she was the cause of the late Queen Mother’s death!

Samantha could hardly get her mind to think, the words of Lady Agathe were the only thing echoing through her brain like an alarm that refuses to go off in the morning. When she bursted out through the door, Samantha glanced at both ways before hastily picking the right and continuing on her heels without stopping in her tracks, or even daring to look back. The path was desolated, devoid of any presence, and Samantha had forgotten exactly which route led to the main entrance of the Palace.

Of all times?!!!

She hardly knew if the vampiress was coming after her or not, but she knew she had to get out of this damn Palace before she loses her life in the hands of the vampiress. She tried to scream out, to attract any form of attention, but she was unable to do so as the shock had left her throat numb.

Did Lady Agathe really murder the Queen Mother?! Just thinking about it made her body tremble, her heart shook in apprehension, but how was that supposed to even be possible?! Lady Agathe was the calm one amongst the Chevalier family, she was both considerate and never failed to offer help so how is this...or has everything up to this point been nothing but a charade??

"Mhmn..!!!" Samantha’s eyelids alarmingly snapped wide when a hand swiftly covered her mouth from behind, stopping her in her gait, and before she could react, the door beside her was being opened, whilst she was shoved inside, making her fall hard to the ground. When she turned her head to see who had grabbed her so roughly, Lady Agathe was locking the door with the keys, and when she turned around to look at the servant who skittered back in fear, her apprehension evident in her eyes, Lady Agathe’s smile turned slightly cunning as she pulled out a dagger from the belt of her dress.

"How sad, I was beginning to like you, but trust me my dear, it pains me that I’ll have to stain my hands with blood now that you know my secret." She admitted, and Samantha shook her head in disbelief while continuously backing away, unable to stand up as the tremor of what she just heard had left her nerves feeling torpid.

"You... you killed the Queen Mother?!!"

"So? She was bound to die sooner or later." Lady Agathe’s tone held no remorse, she made it obvious that she didn’t consider her actions that significant. Samantha’s eyes narrowed as she shook her head, and she was too dumb-stricken by Lady Agathe’s confession to think properly. Infact, she would never have guessed that the vampiress was capable of doing something so despicably abominable.
