Chapter 84: Carving Of Repentance
Riding his Midnight-black steed below the valley where he knew the burnt down establishment resided, Ivan was fortunate enough to have a good recollective memory, which in turn, made it easier for him to locate the landscape without any confusion on the way. While he rode his powerful steed to get to the perpetual valley, his racing heart kept beating in certain tempos that had never happened before, as if he could sense his Little Lamb would be facing the doors of death if he didn’t find her soon.
He could feel it, his uneasiness heightening, and that only fueled his drive to find her as soon as possible as he urged his horse to go faster. After several minutes of searching that felt like eternity in his eyes, he stopped his horse so he could have a quick survey of the perimeters.
Pulling off the hoodie of his black cloak that seamlessly blended with the night, his crimson eyes darted back and forth.
"Where is she?"
The cold night had covered the place in a thick fog, and it was difficult to see through. Taking a deep breath, the vampire prince closed his eyes and chose to rely on his vampiric senses instead. With full concentration, he inhaled sharply, wanting to smell her out before he ran out of time.
At first the distinct scent was unclear when it hit his nostril, but when he inhaled it one more time, he could perceive her whereabouts, but then his eyes alarmingly snapped wide when he perceived numerous scents, which weren’t as pleasing as that of his little lamb, and he knew immediately that she wasn’t alone.
"Dammit!" He cursed.
Turning his horse around, he followed the direction of her scent, succumbing to his vampiric senses. He could perceive how it got stronger, like he was getting close to finding her, but when he looked between the bare branches and the unclear fog, he saw no one.
His crimson eyes flashed with uncertainty as he wondered if he hallucinated her scent, but all that was thrown out of the window when he inadvertently looked up to see a few people holding his little lamb at the top of a cliff, and his eardrums twitched when he heard their disturbing laughters mixed with the panic of his little Lamb’s voice, but before he could react, she was pushed of the cliff.
