Chapter 30: Strange Hostile Dominant Little Lamb
"Would you look at that?" Samantha was immediately jolted back to the present when she heard Ivan speak with mirth, his attention returning to her outfit before withdrawing back to meet her shock-filled eyes. "Did you plan to use yourself as bait?
"I beg your pardon?"
"Using my cloak as camouflage will only attract trouble, little lamb, not dispel it." His Midnight gloved fingers gently brushed against the hoodie, making it fall back and revealing her golden-blonde hair that was tied in a disheveled bun. The smooth curly strands dropped at both sides of her small round-shaped face, the ones at the back rested on her shoulder, and Ivan subconsciously pursed his lips at the alluring sight.
Samantha, who noticed the slight annoyance in his eyes, failed to comprehend the reason why his mood turned sour in a fraction of second. Feeling unhinged by his looks, she turned her head in the direction of the tree where the strange man was presently trapped, and she asked. "Who... who is that....that man?"
She was yet to recover from the shock Ivan had put her through, and everything about that man looked human, save for the yellowish serpent eyes that reminded her of a vicious snake, and she would have been harmed if Ivan didn’t move her out of the way on time.
What is happening here??
"I already told you." Ivan responded with a straight face, his tone laced with malice. "I meant it when I said I dislike people touching my belongings without consent, and that ugly thing was about to lay its filthy hands on you, so I...." A cynical smile curved his stiff lips, a dangerous light twinkling in his eyes "....made sure he won’t be able to use that hand ever again."
Ivan’s gaze shifted to the man who was struggling to pull the knife out of his bleeding wrist, and when he hissed out at the two of them, his tongue was the exact replica of a snake. Samantha’s whole body screamed for her to bolt out of here, but she remained where she was while her mind ran wild with panic.
"Looks like you’ll be needing some assistance, let me help you with that." Ivan approached the snake man with a cunning smile, his gaze shifting to the knife that pinned the man’s bloody wrist to the tree. With his gloved fingers already curled against the hilt, Ivan mercilessly pushed the blade deeper, so much that it pierced through the man’s bone, and Ivan’s pupils danced with satisfaction when the man screamed out in agony.
Samantha was forced to look away from the horrendous sight, covering her poor ears with her palm.
"Ahhhh... you wanted to pull it out? You should learn to use words and not hiss, for I do not speak snake language." Ivan, who spoke innocently, shook his head as if he wasn’t the one to blame. With a dangerous glint in his eyes, he pulled the Knife out with one quick pull, and the man stumbled forward, clutching against his bleeding wrist and falling to the ground.
