Chapter 251: Congratulations In Advance
"Whitebrige?" Elaine’s brows furrowed into a frown as she looked at Richard who was sitting across his study table. He stroked his chin while his gaze appeared distant, like he was pondering on something, and Elaine moved closer to his desk, her expression filled with worry.
"I don’t care how you do it Richard, but you must bring my daughter, my son and his wife back safely. You have the power to find their location Richard so you must do your duties as their Father. We don’t even know how they’re doing and if they’re alright. I am worried and I will no longer cross my hands to sit and wait for you. I need my children!"
The news of Cassian’s execution not happening as planned had filled her heart with hope. She knew the palace guards were still out searching for him, but it was only recently her husband was able to secretly locate where her children were, and right now, she wanted nothing more but to see them and make sure her precious babies were alright.
"You know that is not possible, Elaine." Richard, who had been stressed over the week finally said something, and he took a deep breath before adding. "If we must act, then I say we leave them there till the situation calms. Going after them will only raise more suspicion, and I’m sure you don’t want that to happen, do you?"
While he spoke, his expression softened.
He needed to make her understand the gravity of the situation Cassian and his wife were in. His son wasn’t human, to his greatest shock, and right now his presence would be more of a threat if he comes back to Carmarthen. Richard didn’t doubt the fact that Cassian was still his son, but he was more curious to know how he became one of those creatures lurking in the dark.
"You are their Mother, Elaine. I understand your concern, but we should think logically about this to avoid putting them in harm’s way."
"While I understand what you mean, I need to know if they’re safe and fine." Elaine pushed on, and Richard finally nodded his head in an attempt to make her calm down.
"I’ll send them a letter, if they respond to the letter, we’ll know everyone is fine, but if they don’t, I’ll go there myself to see what the problem is."
