Chapter 214: Streaks Of Darkness
Madeline couldn’t deny how weak she felt by bringing one flower to life. She could swear she felt her zeal in her energy leaving through her arms, almost electrifyingly, and it was surreal that she could hardly believe it. As tired as she was, she felt undeniably excited too.
"I’m going to keep this with me, as a memory of your first success." Monica commented as she walked in front with Osvaldo by her side. She held the healthy rose like it was some kind of treasure that she had picked along the way.
Amused by it, It made Madeline wonder how many years it must have been for the people of Whitebridge to live without seeing any signs of flowers during spring. Currently, Osvaldo and Monica were leading them to a portal they would use to reach the home they had planned for Cassian and Madeline.
Napoleon couldn’t come with them since he had important meetings to deal with. With Madeline’s arrival, a lot of questions will be asked, and it was up to Napoleon to answer it. Presently, they wouldn’t want to overwhelm Madeline and Cassian with the rules of Whitebridge, it was better to let them get settled till they felt better before introducing them to the rest of the elders in Whitebrige city’s capital.
Osvaldo admired his brother when it came to being confident in speaking with a large group, something that he was incapable of doing.
When they made it to the direction of an armored man, Osvaldo spoke in the same strange language he had said to the other guards. When the armored man nodded his head, with a long golden staff in his grip, he thrust it forward, creating a portal that continued to enlarge as he rotated the staff in circles.
"Quick question, where can I get one of those?" Cassian was talking about the staff in the armored man’s grip, finding it useful for future purposes in case he needed to disappear from certain events, and Osvaldo shook his head lightly.
"You do not necessarily need one, all Vampires have speed. Don’t they?"
"Well in some situations, if there was the slightest chance I have the ability to disappear than run, I’d go with the one with less stress."
