Chapter 158: Honeymoon
Early in the day, the mailman did his usual duty by dropping letters at people’s doorposts, and Cassian’s home received a letter just like the rest of the other houses.
Inna met the mailman at the door and signed before receiving the letter for Cassian. Turning the letter, Inna noticed the letter was sent from the palace, and the exquisite way the envelope had been polished was enough to make her confirm that it came from someone important.
"Must be from his Majesty." Curious, she wanted to take a peek at what was written inside, but to her unawareness, felt the letter being snatched from her grip before she could even open it to read.
"No snooping." Cassian flicked his sister’s forehead as punishment before moving to the living room with the letter.
"I was just about to bring it to you." Inna denied his accusation, still rubbing where he had flicked due to the painful sting it brought.
She followed her brother to the living room since she was still interested in knowing what was in the letter. Standing behind her brother who relaxed in the comfort of his couch, Inna watched him open the letter to read the content, but like he felt her nosy presence behind him, Cassian paused and threw one of the soft pillows at her - one Inna did not see coming as the pillow hit her perfectly.
"Ouch!" Inna’s girly wince made Cassian know she had received his little present, but he didn’t turn to look at her.
"Are you still standing there?"
"Urgh! So mean!" Inna threw the pillow back at him as revenge, but he didn’t react, and when she finally moved away, Cassian opened the letter to read, intensifying his sister’s impatience.
"Why won’t you let me see? Don’t tell me you’re having a secret affair, or is it another one of those letters from your admirers? Is that why you’re hiding it?" Inna, who wanted to know the content of the letter at all means kept pestering her brother who ignored her existence.
"What admirers?" Madeline’s inquisitive tone made Inna pause in the next word she wanted to say, her gaze shifted to Madeline who was coming out of the kitchen, and her eyes lit up as if she had come up with a tricky plan to get her brother’s attention.
