Chapter 135: Jeremy’s Death (1)
Inna’s gaze raked through every word for the umpteenth time, trying to make proper sense of the puzzled words, and when it still didn’t make sense to her, she picked up her pen and decided to respond to the letter.
When her etiquette lesson teacher gave her some breaks, a few friends she made randomly brought the idea about how they write letters to their pen friends to while away time, and Inna discovered the same technique was what helped her gain Geoffrey’s whereabouts when she seeked her confrere for help.
Curious, she decided to test it for the first time, and already made up her mind that no one would respond to her letters regarding if vampires existed, since whoever might receive it would assume she was mentally unstable to ask something like this, but shockingly, the bird returned the next day with a response from an unknown compatriot, and they’ve been exchanging letters ever since.
Dropping her quill back on the ink jar, Inna carefully opened the windows of her room.
Peering out through the window, Inna whistled, using it to draw the attention of a certain bird, and it didn’t take too long before the beautiful colored bird came flying towards her direction, and it landed on her window, bringing a smile to Inna’s lips as she admired the beauty of the colorful bird.
"Aren’t you a healthy bird?" She gave the bird a gentle pat on the head before pressing her lips into a thin line.
Her brows suddenly rose, she left her window and returned seconds later with bread crumbs in her palm, which she fed to the bird before placing the letter on the bird’s leg. Stepping back, she watched it take off only to get lost in the clouds, and Inna had to admit that she would feel restless all through the day if her compatriot didn’t respond before midnight.
Does Elian have a connection with her letter? She couldn’t tell, and that made her anticipate her compatriot’s response.
At the back of the building, Elian patiently waited there as though he was expecting the presence of someone. He looked deep in thought, his green eyes flashing a painful glint, but that look Instinctively vanished when his pet bird flew to his side and landed on his left shoulder. Its sweet little chirping rendered the annoyed Elian even more annoyed as he rolled his eyes.
