The Baroness Misbehaves

Chapter 78: Visiting Fancy Leaf Inn (1)

Stopping the carriage in front of a little inn in the upper west quarters, Orson and Cassian stepped down from the carriage with Orson trying to picture the little sketchy house that was drawn on the paper, and it looked exactly like the inn Amade had successfully brought them to.

The inn was right before the upper west town square, and it was less crowded today since it was the weekend. The inn looked moderate enough to accommodate at least fifty people based on Orson’s calculation, and he squinted his eyes as he tried to read the little map once again.

"Did you read it correctly this time?" Cassian asked the moment Orson revealed they had stopped in front of an inn, and his unnecessary questions were starting to frustrate Orson who glared his way. "If you don’t believe me then take the note and read the map yourself! Ungrateful being!"

He already went through the trouble of reading the tiny images on the note, and he knew how difficult it was for him to crack his brain just so they could locate this place, and still not even a simple thank you did he receive from the complaining Lucifer.

Amade on the other hand, had grown tired of listening to the two of them argue like cats and dogs all the way here. Sometimes it was difficult to tell if they were friends or foe due to how many times they argued in just a day.

As long as they worked together, an argument is bound to take place between the two of them.

"Keep the note with you." Cassian turned away from the raging Orson who seemed to have angry birds flying atop his head. "And lead the way, will you? Or do you need help from a blind man in telling you to do the needful?" He uttered once more as though he was asking if Orson was waiting for a command before he knew they were meant to enter the inn.

"Sigh... I’m breaking our friendship after this." Uttered Orson as he walked ahead, and Cassian held back a snicker as he followed behind. There was a time when Orson hated him for this, but look at them now.

Opening the door and stepping into the Inn, Orson took note of the long narrow passage that led to an open space. He could hear the soothing sound of an orchestra being played somewhere, and the inside appeared dim with blue candle lanterns hanging on each side of the wall.
