"Sister, what do we do now? It won’t be long before they notice our disappearance, what are they going to do?" Li Meimei questioned, her voice sounded panicky, and she could not hold back the fear she felt.
"Listen, everything will be fine, I assure you, you do not need to cry," Li Chuxi patiently explained to her, assuring her, and herself at the same time.
"Li Chuxi, I really admire you, you are strong, but, here I am, the only thing I can do is shed tears, and make things more difficult for you," Li Meimei wiped her eyes, but more tears fell from her eyes.
Her voice was twinged with a hint of disappointment, not for Li Chuxi, but herself. She blamed herself for being weak, and always crying at the little things.
"Hey, Meimei, I am not blaming you, and you do not need to change yourself just because of me, you are okay just the way you are," Li Chuxi immediately held Li Meimei who was seated on the bed, her eyes glistening with tears.
"But sister, I just feel like I am holding you back, if I was not with you, maybe you would have escaped, and would not be in this situation," Li Meimei continued, despite Li Chuxi’s assurance.
"Li Meimei, do not speak like that, if you continue, I will be forced to spank you hard, even if you are my twin," Li Chuxi threatened, and Li Meimei swallowed immediately.
"I am sorry," Li Meimei replied with her head lowered. She seemed to have realized that she had angered her sister.
