Chapter 49: Maternal Love 1
She shook her head as she turned to face her assistant, who was equally perplexed. It appears that her assistant was also unaware of the situation.
She looked at the dress and felt hesitant. She wanted to purchase this dress for her niece. Will she have to give up on this?
Her eyes sparkled as a thought passed through her mind.
"Last I checked, you do not have a small child in your house, so why would you want to buy a dress?" Gu Shi smirked, believing the dress was already hers.
"Aunty Yan, I have already taken a bath, and this dress looks great on me," Xin Chuxi said.
Gu Shi was taken aback when she noticed the little girl. Her gaze darted to Xin Yan, who had a loving gaze for the girl. Her tongue clicked briefly. She appeared to have discovered a very big secret.
"Xin Yan, do not tell me that this is your illegitimate child. If Li Qiang found out, I wondered how he would react." Gu Shi had a fake concerned expression on her face as she sounded confident in her words.
Xin Yan and the others stared at her as if she were already insane. Little Chuxi had vowed not to allow anyone to speak ill of Xin Yan, so she attacked verbally.
"Then it appears that this aunt may also have a child outside," Xin Chuxi said innocently, but Gu Shi’s expression changed dramatically; she had a guilty look on her face.
"You brat, how could you say that?" She was about to raise her hands to Xin Chuxi, but Xin Yan was quick to respond by catching a hold of her hand.
"Did I say anything wrong? I thought it was basic courtesy to act properly; it is not right to accuse someone without proof, is that not correct, Aunt Yan?" Xin Chuxi’s heart warmed as she looked up at Xin Yan, who was fighting on her behalf.
