Chapter 4: Break Up
"I really want us to break up because this relationship isn't working for either of us," Xin Yan said firmly.
"Have you stopped loving me? Have I made a mistake?" Yuan Renshu pleaded, "If there's something bothering you, please tell me! I genuinely love you, Xiao Yan! What causes you to act like that?"
Xin Yan could feel nothing but disgust as she sneered in his direction.
Did he grasp the meaning of the word 'love' at all? He revered it as a sacred emotion, yet he could not understand it.
Her emotions spoke volumes, even though she remained quiet. If he were wise, he'd comprehend.
Thankfully, he didn't disappoint her. His facial expression shifted as soon as he saw hers. He recognized her mockery directed at him.
"Can you explain this to me, Xin Yan?" he inquired calmly despite feeling upset. He found her taunts unbearable. He chose not to call her by any affectionate name.
"I'm ending this relationship; it's as simple as that," she said firmly, meeting his gaze.
"But why exactly? If you want to end things, I at least deserve an explanation," Yuan Renshu insisted.
He considered her insane. What made her suddenly decide to end the relationship?
"Since you're obviously together with Jiang Lanfen, what's the point in spending my time on you when it's clear you don't love me?" Xin Yan huffed.
