Sleeping With The CEO

Chapter 323: Hello Stranger

When Emily had left, she had said that she would come back. And that was the only thing that had kept Jane sane as the hours had turned into days. She had clung to her daughter’s words. Comforting herself with the fact that Emily’s absence was not permanent.

That she would return someday.

Were it up to Jane, Emily would never have left at all. But since it was not up to her. She’d had to contend with the fact that maybe at most, Emily would be gone for a month or two.

But of course that was not the case. After only a few days away, Emily was baxk. Which was exactly what Jane had been hoping for.

But despite the unbelievable joy that Jane was feeling at her daughter’s return. She also could not help but be a bit irritated at Emily’s timing. Jane had just gotten in from work, and after a long hot shower she had been ready to just sit in front of the TV, and switch off for a few hours. Dressed in her comfiest pajamas, with a tub of ice cream on her lap.

In fact, Jane had almost fulfilled that plan. Dressed in the pajamas that she had been dreaming about all day. She’d just sat down, ice cream in hand, and had been about to switch on the TV. But then her phone had chimed. Signalling that she had a message.

She had wanted to ignore it, but then Jane had figured that one glance could not hurt. As it turned out one glance could hurt a lot. Which was why Jane was currently in a state of panic.

’Hey mom. I’m back. I am on my way up to the apartment right now. Don’t be in bunny slippers, I am bringing visitors. It’s Derek and his mother.’

They almost never brought visitors to the apartment. So it figured that one of the few times they had guests. Said guests happened to be people who were practically made of money.
