Sleeping With The CEO

Chapter 258: Chance At Redemption

There were certain things that just burned the soul. Though Emily did not like to admit it, she was a bit of a sore loser. As an only child, she had never really had to compete with anyone for anything.

During all the games that she used to play in the park with her parents, Emily had always come out on top. Miraculously winning races in the last leg, despite the fact that she had much shorter legs than both her mom and dad. When it came to seeing who could throw a ball the farthest. Hers always went super far.

Her dad’s ball dropping right next to his feet, leaving Emily to just sail to victory.

That was how she had grown up. Just knowing that no matter the game, if she tried her very best, she would find herself on top. As an adult Emily had thought that

that was just what grown-ups did. They let the younger win so that they did not feel too bad. Apparently, Emily’s parents had really spoiled her. Old Lady Edna did not follow such rules, and that woman was an absolute pit viper when it came to games.

upon realizing that old Edna would be there, had signed up for the challenge.

That one they would have won too. Both of them had far better eyesight and stronger limbs. But old Edna had outsmarted them. She had gotten poor Derek out of the game, by flirting with him. On a normal day, an old lady trying to flirt would have been cute.

But as it turned out, old Edna, with the hand knitted sweater that had the picture of a giant kitten on the front. The very Edna who wore a strawberry scrunchie, on her gray hair, and had fire-engine red glasses on, had quite the mouth on her. Not only did she have quite the mouth, she also had one heck of an imagination and had very clearly been an adventurous young lady. The things that she had said to Derek had had even Emily’s eyebrows raising. She had not blamed him when he had chosen to forfeit, stepping back with his face ashen.
