Chapter 220: Familiar
On the surface, Sebastian’s plan had been simple.
Tail his nephew. Spy on him. Find out who his lady love was. Turn his attention to digging up said girl’s skeletons. Use those skeletons to control her, and thus gain a way to quickly destroy his nephew.
Simple, even a child in kindergarten who was high on whatever crayons were made of these days could understand. And so, instead of enjoying a perfectly good Thursday night with several barely dressed exotic beauties pawing at him.
Sebastian Haven had made a noble sacrifice. He had braved the many temptations of the city, resisting them valiantly. Not allowing himself to be swayed by neither pretty eyes nor large breasts. No matter the size of the bra cup, he had simply looked away and focused on the mission at hand.
And said mission had been spying on his nephew. It would have been easier for Sebastian to hire somebody to do all of the dirty work for him. But after the last time when he’d had a PA who had showed promise spy on Derek, and things had not gone well.
The whole thing had left Sebastian wary of sending people after his nephew. Some things it was just easier to do on your own. No matter how laborious and boring they were. And so, on Thursday night, instead of having his head pillowed on a sizable cleavage. Sebastian had been loitering, and he had not just loitering at any random place in the city. No, he had been passing his time around the hovel that his nephew lived in. The place itself, was officially taken as being one of the wealthy areas of the city. But as far as Sebastian was concerned, the fact that his nephew lived there brought down the value of the property exponentially. But nobody would ever listen to him when he said that. So his opinion did not really matter. What mattered was that Sebastian had spent hours outside the building.
At first he had been walking around the front entrance of the building that Derek lived in. But then he had noticed security starting to pay particularly close attention to him. The men and women there had been looking at Sebastian as though he wanted to rob them.
On a normal day, he would have scoffed and told them all where to get off. After all, with just one shoelace, he could pay all of their salaries for the year.
They should learn to recognize money when they saw it. But since Sebastian did not care about the opinions of those beneath him. He had simply swallowed his pride and walked away. Ducking in and out of nearby buildings as he’d tried to keep the building close by. After all, if something were going to happen, it was going to be from there.
