Sleeping With The CEO

Chapter 51: Drill Sergeant

In the movies, especially the old school ones that were all about overcoming adversity and coming out on top against all odds. There was often a scene in the film where the hero or heroine finally got themselves together and started preparing for whatever the main event of the movie would be.

And rather than showing countless hours of a person learning a new skill, failing, getting back up, failing and then finally mastering whatever it was that they were trying to learn. Movie makers made a montage. Every single step taken into account and then the whole thing was cut into smaller more manageable pieces. The pieces were then made to fit together in a continuous flow that gave the viewer an idea of just how hard the lead of the movie worked to achieve their goal.

Derek like movie montages, they saved a lot of time. But in all his years of watching movies, Derek had never in his life thought that he would see a movie montage live.

But as he lay down on the uncomfortable motel bed, the sheets beneath him scratchy, he realized that, that was exactly what he was seeing.

A movie montage, live, all thanks to his PA.

The fall from the bed had to have given her superpowers, Derek thought as he watched her. Or maybe it was the spider that she said had scared her into screaming. Either way, there was definitely something supernatural going on. New ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄhapters are published on ɴovᴇl_Firᴇ.ɴet

Before his very eyes, Emily was moving with a speed that should not have been possible for a human being. Derek tracked her as she moved, the bed covers that she had recently been tangled in were scooped up and thrown in his direction, almost falling off the bed on the other side. He looked from the thrown covers to her, and she was no longer where he had left her. Instead she was crouched down next to her bag, going through it so fast she barely seemed to be touching the clothes.

Derek blinked and she was right next to him, standing there like a creepy ghost from a horror film. Derek was almost convinced that she would start levitating and make blood rain down from the ceiling. Luckily, she did no such thing, all that she did was lean over and put her phone down on the bedside table.

And then she was gone so fast she might as well have teleported, all Derek heard was the sound of the bathroom door closing, and then he was alone in the room.

He stared at the door, not feeling all the way awake yet. Seconds later the sound of the shower running made it through the thin wood of the door. And then as suddenly as it had started, it went quiet. He could hear banging and clanging coming from the other side, none of the silence from the night before was anywhere to be found.
