Chapter 46: An Explosion
Shaan was speechless when he saw the doppleshade’s stare, which was ready to devour him. Honestly, he did not expect a doppleshade to be in this carriage at all, given that this creature should have probably died from the shock of the power lines.
"Damn. B-but how is it possible?"
Robin Hood pointed toward one of the rear windows. [There. I think it came through one of those broken windows, Shaan,] he said. [There weren’t any broken windows before, right?]
’Yes, what Robin Hood said seems to be correct.’
"Damn it. If that’s the case, we have no choice but to stop it." Shaan gripped both of his dual short swords tightly. "Robin Hood, we can’t let this creature get past this carriage. We can’t let it harm Nalira and Chelsie."
[Alright, Shaan. I got it.]
The Doppleshade leapt at Shaan and launched an attack of its own. Shaan quickly blocked the attack using both his dual shorts, but since their strength difference was significant, he fell off and his body slammed straight into the carriage door.
"Ugh, damn it!" Shaan slowly pushed himself back up. "Doppleshade’s power is too strong for me," he bit his lower lip, his face turning pale. "We need a way to stop this thing."
[Yes, I agree. But how? How can-]

"Shaan, is everything okay?" Chelsie asked, standing behind the carriage door. "Uhm... I heard a loud crash from back here. Is everything alright?"
[Shaan, it’s Chelsie. What do you think we should do?]
