Chapter 35: Old train
The wrinkles on Shaan’s forehead became even more obvious as he listened to these words. For some reason, it always felt like every time Nalira spoke, Shaan had to be extremely patient waiting for every word to come out of her mouth to understand what she was truly trying to say.
"However, if I ever catch you trying to attack or betray us, I will not hesitate to attack you." Nalira looked at Shaan with a cold gaze.
’Nalira seems serious about her words.
"Of course, that’s not a problem for me," Shaan said without any hesitation at all. "So, where is the location of the dark creature that rules this place? Have you guys figured it out yet?"
"We haven’t been able to confirm the whereabouts of the dark creature that caused the midnight gate portal to appear." Chelsie gave a short explanation. "However, when I tried to use Carmen’s power, she said that she could sense the existence of an enormous power at the end of these railroad tracks." Chelsie pointed at the railroad that was opposite the railroad on which Shaan was traveling. "That’s why the two of us decided to follow this track—and ended up running into you from the opposite direction purely by chance."
"Alright, I understand."
"However, while we were traveling along this railroad, dark creatures kept appearing and their numbers kept increasing." Chelsie let out a long sigh. "It feels like if we continue like this, we won’t be able to reach the end of this railroad in time."
"We need to find something that can take us past these train tracks." Nalira cast her eyes around. "The longer we stay here, those creatures of darkness will easily attack us from all directions."
"Yes, I agree. However, so far we have found absolutely nothing that can lead us, Nalira."
"Wait a moment. I think I know what we need."
