Chapter 7: A Deal With Jasmine
Gray stood still for a moment.
His hand was still resting against the bedframe, splinters of wood trailing down his palm from the earlier slam.
"...Jasmine."
The name left his lips in a breath, like a strange mix of disbelief and mockery.
The goddess flinched just slightly as there was something strange in the way he said her name, like... he was strangely mocking her.
He tilted his head ever so slightly, his dark eyes locked onto her.
"...You said this was an inheritance dungeon."
Her pale brows rose faintly, unsure where he was going with this.
"So," Gray continued, his voice was calm... too calm.
"What kind of inheritance does the ’worthy one’ receive, Jasmine?"
Her lips parted softly, glowing eyes narrowing a fraction.
"...As I am now... weakened... You would only receive the Blessing of Beauty," she said, with a flicker of reluctance. "Its effects would enhance your appearance, presence... charm... but nothing more. Not yet."
