"Bang, bang, bang!" The urgent knocking shattered the night’s silence.
Half past midnight.
He closed his eyes, feeling a bit weary.
"Bang, bang, bang!" The knocking continued, growing more insistent.
He finally sat up and opened the door in the darkness. Outside stood Su Rongxing, who had just returned from outside. Her hands were behind her back, a faint scent of alcohol lingered, and under the dim orange hallway light, her eye shadow glistened.
Su Rongxing puffed out her cheeks, looking at him with a hint of resentment in her eyes.
All his emotions were suppressed the moment the door opened. He turned on the light and smiled amicably and gently, "I’m sorry I didn’t have time to have dinner with you today."
"Hmph!" Su Rongxing’s lips pouted even higher.
"Don’t be mad. I’ll buy a gift to make it up to you." His smile was perfectly measured.
