Chapter 15: Encounter, Reunion (14)
She and he hadn’t seen each other for twenty years, and when they met again, he didn’t remember her. However, the handshake at that moment inexplicably gave her a belief that he understood everything she had thought and yearned for.
But, the hand overlaid on hers tightened more and more, growing heavier and heavier, until he suddenly leaned his entire weight onto her.
Her nose was struck hard, and although it was just a moment before he straightened up, her nose still tingled painfully.
Only then did she look up at him, seeing his unusually pale face, grayish lips, and the slightly scattered look in his eyes.
She immediately supported him. He closed his eyes, shook his head slightly, and pushed away her support, "I’m fine."
How could he be fine? His raincoat was nowhere to be seen, he was drenched all over, and from the moment she supported him, she could feel his body was as cold as ice. As she took off her raincoat, she said, "How long have you been soaked? Be careful not to catch a cold!"
"I don’t need your raincoat! I said I’m fine!" His tone suddenly became harsh, and with a push, he walked briskly forward.
"Hey! Xu Gui! Wait for me!" She took off her raincoat and caught up, trying to cover him with it.
He shook off her raincoat, and in doing so, also left her behind.
She stood there, bit her lip, and stubbornly followed again.
