Chapter 483 - 421: Fratricide (Combined)
The fleet majestically sailed across the vast ocean, nearly all of them three-masted sailing ships. They first appeared in the hands of the Three-eyed Ape People for extensive trading activities and were later adapted by humans as the trade caravans reached the human world. Eventually, the True Believers who came on pilgrimages brought the relevant technologies to the Nus Kingdom.
The three-masted ships boasted huge, curved sterns and colossal slanted masts at the bow, atop which stood imposing statues. They were rigged with multiple square sails on the foremast and mainmast, while the mizzenmast carried a triangular sail. Their vast size allowed them to carry supplies sufficient for high-seas voyages, and even in storms, they had ample ability to protect themselves.
Nimirda stood at the bow, his arm resting on the mast, his feet firmly planted on the heaving deck.
He had been informed that his subordinates had been feeling seasick and vomiting over the past few days.
For nearly ten thousand years, Logos people were not without experience in oceanic voyaging - since ancient times, the Prophet Al and his son had journeyed in canoes to witness the stories of God.
However, for a very long time, the Elves’ voyages were often accompanied by the Unihorns, who would swim at their side below the water’s surface, using their glowing unicorns to guide the movement of currents, and thus stabilize the ships, keep them away from storms, and speed up their travel. King Dertulian’s successful landfall in years past was inseparably linked to the assistance of the Unihorns.
This group of Exiles had long since lost the right to call the Unihorns their brethren.
Fortunately, even though many were seasick and vomiting amidst the waves, the Elves, after all, were Elves and there was no risk of large-scale epidemics.
More concerning to Nimirda than disease were the sea storms encountered along the way.
