Those remaining believers knelt on the ground, feverishly chanting the scriptures. After centuries of waiting and numerous obstructions, they finally reached this day. No one could stop them now. The Primordial Church was set to replace the Imperial Church and manifest as the sole truth before the eyes of the world.
In the darkness, the Divine beings, except for the Head of the Six Gods, still bowed their heads, waiting for Anos, their future King.
Anos surveyed the Six Gods.
The turbulence over Festival Lake had finally calmed. In such a vast underground space, calm waters were the norm for an underground lake.
The lake water had stilled, and all sounds had ceased along with it. The unanimous recitation of scripture had transformed into silent, inward prayers. All eyes were on Anos on Lake Heart Island.
Under their gaze, Anos spoke,
"I see, on the land below, ignorant people savoring the sweetness of creation, waiting for the opportunity for their souls to return to Heaven, but I understand, that Holy Realm is not the true destination."
"The truth has been concealed."
At the fall of the twin statements, the believers instinctively held their breath. Those who prayed day and night knew all too well what it meant.
The Six Gods watched Anos; they understood the implication of the statement, but within their eyes flickered hesitation.
For centuries, the Six Gods had not feared remolding the steps for Ascension; their only fear was Anos’s betrayal in losing the Golden Heart.
