Chapter 374 - 330 The Same Ancient Language
The peril of this assassination attempt had far surpassed Anos’s imagination.
Earth Spikes kept surging from the ground, as Anos clambered up from the terrain in disarray, darting left and dodging right to continuously evade the successive attacks.
But, evidently, the assassin would not let Anos off so easily. The ground beneath her shifted and cracked at the very spots where she maneuvered, intent on tripping up the agile Princess.
Anos kept her eyes fixed on the bushes, though somewhat weary from the onslaught, she was only caught off guard because the attack was sudden. As long as she remained calm and found the right moment, she could still take the assassin’s life.
Just as Anos was contemplating her next move, another unexpected incident occurred.
Two surviving sword-bearing attendants rose from the ground. Seeing the Princess’s current plight, Herodotus was about to charge forward, to slice and dice the assassin hidden in the bushes. However, just as he advanced a few steps, the cold blade of a sword instantly pierced his abdomen.
Herodotus’s eyes widened. Those bandits had already fled in disarray under their assault; there was simply no chance they would return.
If so...
Olivia!
The other sword-bearing attendant offered a cold smile as she thrust her sword through Herodotus’s abdomen, then swiftly withdrew it. Herodotus collapsed rapidly, convulsing on the ground, struggling to rise and fight back. Olivia struck once more, mangling his intestines with her sword to ensure he could no longer struggle, leaving him with only the strength to moan.
Olivia paid him no heed; she strode forward, rushing towards Anos, who was still engaged with the assassin.
