Chapter 67 - 63 Giant Dragon Attack
First, hundreds rose from the ground, and then word spread swiftly from ten to a hundred, from a hundred to a thousand, and thousands to ten thousand. At last, tens of thousands were awakened in the night. All slaves who had been building the colossal statues took up arms as the slave rebellion exploded with a fierce intensity.
The slaves massacred the overseers who had been supervising them, in the name of God. They tore down the fences that surrounded the work area and seized everything they could. Among the slaves were many who had once been glorious Hunters in the Kingdom; they besieged the city-states where they were located, assaulting their defenses with stones and sharpened wooden spears.
The nobles who controlled the city-states panicked, hastily organizing people to resist the slaves’ onslaught and suppress the rebellion.
The guards clashed with the slaves, countless stones arced through the night sky like a light rain, spears intercrossed under the starry sky, and scalding blood poured onto the ground.
"God has left us!"
"Because you replaced God with idols and enslavement with love."
"God has left us, and we, God’s children, need to bring God back!"
The slaves, unified by Dertulian, roared. In the name of God, they resisted the oppression of the nobles, also carried out in God’s name.
Chaos engulfed the city-states. Dertulian led the slaves in their assault against the guards’ defenses. They wept and raged, breaking through the guards and taking the high-standing nobles captive or putting them to death.
The fires of uprising were ignited within the city-states. Disarray and panic were rife everywhere, and eventually, the slaves took control of the entire city.
Dertulian stood with the slaves at the highest point, gazing out at the distant sea.
