Chapter 69: A Horrible Disease
The moment Adam asked this question, Keira’s eyes opened widely.
A cold sweat ran down her cheek as her fingers instinctively tightened around the feathered cloak draped over her small frame. She swallowed hard, forcing herself upright, though her limbs trembled from more than just exhaustion.
It was as if she just remembered about her sister, as the shock from nearly dying twice was still very much active, but, she calmed herself down quickly, as she began to recall what had happen to Adam.
"I...I was chasing after her."
Keira murmured.
Her words were soft but very clear as she continued.
"I tried to catch up... I really did, but then I saw her."
Keira’s hands clenched into a fist as the memory clawed its way back.
"Nyla...she was surrounded. Those damn Antment, they were everywhere. She fought, but there were too many, and as a result, she was easily overwhelmed. I..I couldn’t reach her in time."
Said Keira, as Adam listened calmly.
