Chapter 243: combat
Beneath Liss’s villa, the air shifted, thick with the hum of raw power.
The underground training room, a Class-S combat simulator built for elite superheroes, glowed with combat-grade lighting, its dim, steely tones casting stark shadows across reinforced steel walls that gleamed faintly.
The pressure-adaptive flooring flexed underfoot, AI-synced impact sensors hummed softly, and a damage-neutral field generator encased the arena in a buzzing dome of controlled danger, its faint shimmer a promise of brutal precision.
Liss stood in the center, rolling her neck, her black compression suit hugging her athletic frame, segmented silver lines pulsing with neural feedback data, her blonde bun tight, her blue eyes sharp with focus.
Across from her, Rhea bounced on her heels, flames licking the air above her shoulders, her crimson hair loose, her amber eyes blazing with restless energy.
Freya stood off to the side, arms crossed over her chest, her platinum-cyan hair catching the light, her blue eyes cool and watchful, her fitted suit emphasizing her composed strength.
"Alright," Liss said, her voice firm, her blue eyes locking onto Rhea, then Freya. "Ten rounds. Class-B powers only. Not because of the ceiling, but because I don’t feel like dragging your burned-out bodies to the med pod."
Rhea snorted, her amber eyes glinting, flames flickering higher. "Aww, worried you might break a nail?"
Freya smirked faintly, her blue eyes narrowing. "I think she’s worried you might break a rib. Again."
"You two talk too much," Liss said, stepping into a fighting stance, her body coiled, ready. "Let’s go."
They moved, a synchronized explosion of motion, no words needed.
