Chapter 129: why do you care
Rhea’s grin turned sly, her amber eyes glinting with mischief. "Wait. You said you woke up with him, but not that you had sex. So... you two didn’t actually do it?"
Freya’s smirk widened, her tone playful but defiant.
"Not yesterday," she said, her blue eyes dancing with teasing challenge. "And why do you care if we had sex? Weren’t you getting fingered right before that?"
Rhea’s clenched her hips instinctively, her blush deepening as she sputtered, "I don’t care!" She paused, her expression shifting to something more introspective, her voice dropping. "I just... thought Kael lied to me."
"How?" Freya asked, her curiosity piqued, her head tilting slightly.
Rhea sighed, her amber eyes dimming with a mix of frustration and self-reflection. "He told me he didn’t want us to get tired, so he said no more sex. Then the next morning, he’s naked in bed with you. What was I supposed to think? That he lied to dodge me. I know he hides things, bends the truth, but I want him to be straight with me, like I try to be. This time, I guess I jumped to conclusions too fast. He was honest, and I was wrong."
Freya chuckled, her voice warm but teasing.
"Yeah, he kept chanting ’no sex’ like it was his lifeline. Can you imagine the willpower it took to hold back with someone like me?" She grinned, the image comically absurd.
"Also... You still didn’t answer—why do you want to be a hero?"
