The bathroom door in Kael’s room loomed ahead.
"So, why exactly are we here?"
Freya’s blue eyes narrowed, her voice laced with doubt.
Rhea and Freya stood outside, stripped down to their underwear—Rhea in black panties and a matching bra, Freya in white, the fabric clinging to their curves.
Their bare skin prickled in the cool air, their collars still off, their powers a faint buzz beneath their skin.
Rhea gulped, her amber eyes flicking to Freya’s body—her full breasts, her toned waist—and a flicker of inadequacy stirred in her chest, despite her own athletic, scarred frame.
She caught Freya’s gaze and quickly looked away, her cheeks flushing.
"What?" Freya asked, her smirk sharp, catching Rhea’s stare. "Jealous?"
Rhea’s jaw tightened, but she said nothing, her amber eyes fixed on the tub. Freya’s smirk widened, her blue eyes glinting with smug satisfaction.
Kael stood before them, his hazel eyes gleaming with a mix of authority and barely concealed delight.
"This," Kael said, his tone commanding, as if the absurdity of the situation was perfectly serious, "is the start of your real training."
