Chapter 45: ANOTHER PROPOSAL
"I’ve finished!" Alaric turned to his mother and sister, holding up his note book.
"You have? Let me see." Catherine beckoned gently, moving from her sitting position beside her children to lie beside them.
"Oh, this is wonderful, Allie. You are making good progress," Catherine praised truthfully while patting his head proudly.
Aristia also nodded, smiling at Alaric. "Good job, Al. You’re learning quickly," she returned to completing her history assignment.
"But what will I do now that I have completed my work, Tia?" Alaric asked his unofficial lesson tutor.
"Hmm... You could draw on the work sheet. Just do whatever you want." She waved her hand and pointed at an empty sheet of paper on the bed.
"Ah..." Alaric seemed to like the idea. He picked up the sheet of paper and his pencil and began to draw.
Five minutes later, and Aristia had completed her assignment. She stretched her hands, hearing a little satisfying crack after stretching her stiff fingers.
Turning to Alaric, she asked, "What are you drawing, Al?" as she stretched her neck to take a look at the sheet of paper.
Before Alaric could reply, a knock sounded on the door to her room and they all looked up to see the person on the other side, after Catherine had granted permission to enter the room.
"Your Highness, the food has been prepared. Please, come down for dinner." Melanie bowed. The lady watched the mother and her children on the bed for a quick second before returning her gaze to Catherine.
