New World, New Life: I Became A Bigshot In The Ancient World

Chapter 38: BEATRIX’S UNIQUE INTEREST

"Only five years old and already thinking about the kingdom. You should think more about yourself and what you want. Leave the big matters to the adults, alright?"

Even though Fedor said that, he knew that she had helped them a great deal. He was amazed. She, a five year old girl, had easily provided a solution that would have put them, the men, rulers and adults, in a helpless situation trying to come up with a solution but failing.

"I understand, uncle Fedor," Aristia nodded to show she understood. She knew that he meant well. He only wanted her to think more about herself as she was a child and didn’t need to be burdened by worrisome matters.

[I already know what I want though—to make money. It’s that simple.]

Ivan, Beatrix and Serina watched the adults and Aristia as they conversed. They understood that there could be a famine caused by locusts and that the adults, thanks to Aristia, had found a solution. Even Alaric could understand.

They were both surprised and amazed. They had never heard of storehouses or graneries or anything similar at all.

After lunch, the men got together to discuss the measures to take against the famine and the way they would go about handling the famine if it were to occur, the women went to the garden to have a conversation, and the children were left alone.

"Brother Ivan, can we ride the horses now?" Alaric asked hopefully, looking up at Ivan.

"Not now, Allie. We just had lunch. It wouldn’t be good to ride a horse," Liam reasoned.

"Okay. Later then," Alaric replied chirpily, not in the least bit discouraged.

The imperial palace was very large. In the palace, there were different wings. There also existed wings in the palace referred to as cold palaces, for unfavored concubines.
