Shen Xi coldly snorted, "I don’t want to eat. I just want to leave now!"
"Xi, it’s just one meal! When you finish eating, I’ll escort you out, alright?" Gu Chen felt like his patience was wearing thin with Shen Xi.
Gu Chen sat back in his seat, gazing intently at Shen Xi, waiting for her to come back and sit across from him. Just like these days, they would eat together, he would serve her food, watch TV, take strolls together, and say goodnight when they returned in the evening.
"Gu Chen, you still don’t understand me. I won’t eat against my will!" Shen Xi mockingly remarked.
Gu Chen remained calm, just saying in a gentle tone, "Then, I beg you, will you stay and eat with me?"
"No!" Shen Xi replied without hesitation.
"In that case, it doesn’t matter if I understand or not," Gu Chen picked up his chopsticks and, as usual, began to pick out Shen Xi’s favorite dishes for her.
Gu Chen became eerily calm. Shen Xi could sense that Gu Chen had no intention of letting her leave. She chuckled lightly and walked towards the door.
