The bright lights of the bustling street couldn’t illuminate the man’s eyes, timid as a sewer rat. Without a hint of guilt, he shook off Xu Si’s hand and turned to flee as if he’d seen a ghost.
The casino staff were decent enough, assigning two people to help Xu Si give chase and arranging a waiting area for her.
Her handbag only contained some money; losing it wasn’t a huge deal.

She knew better than anyone the consequences of lacking an Identity Card in the Underground City.
Therefore, Xu Si didn’t opt to blindly trust others and wait. Instead, she got into her car, slammed the accelerator, and sped after the man.
The night breeze was cool, the light dim. Her gaze fixed on the frail, staggering figure of the thief ahead. Her lips pursed. Just as she was about to catch up, the thief scrambled into a modified sedan. The engine roared to life, tires screeching against the road, leaving a trail of afterimages.
"Oh?"
A smirk played on Xu Si’s lips, her bright, peach-blossom eyes cool yet restless. The next second, she floored the accelerator and roared after him.
Playing a car chase with her? That was simply courting death.
