Would you do us the honor of attending?"

Xia Ningxing also nodded her head in agreement.
Though Wu Wenwen and the others were reluctant, they eventually joined as well.
The welcome party was really a series of performances organized by the dozens of students from Sun Elementary School’s six classes, featuring singing, dancing, and even recitations.
"This is so painfully rustic!" Wu Wenwen rolled her eyes as she watched.
Villagers will be villagers – the singing was off-key and grating, the dancing unsightly, and the recitations were even done with a rural accent, completely derailing any sense of immersion.
After the welcome party concluded, many of the students’ parents and villagers brought over vegetables and fruits they’d grown themselves, with the more generous among them also offering chickens, ducks, and even pork.
Xia Ningxing and the others thanked everyone, then sorted and stored the food into the school’s kitchen.
The kitchen was very old-fashioned, with a stove that had to be lit by hand. It featured two pots, one for cooking rice and the other for stir-frying, and beside the stove sat a small wooden stool, a convenience for those who needed to sit while cooking.
