Gongxi Yunqi was already seated in his place early on. Seeing her rushing in, he couldn’t help but ask, “Have you been very busy lately?” He couldn’t find her apart from during class.
Even during the brief lunch break, she kept her head down, seemingly drawing something and sometimes, she even forgot to eat. He wanted to bring her food, but he was afraid that would upset her.
When they got away for break this weekend, he decided to have a serious talk with Ms. Huahua.
“Ah? Yes!” Nan Fei tried to smile. The dark circles under her eyes were even more noticeable when she smiled.
Gongxi Yunqi couldn’t help but chuckle, “Here…” He pointed under his own eyes, “You should use a hot towel to help.”
“Oh!” Nan Fei grunted and quickly turned her head pretending to look at the blackboard.
Lately, she felt that Gongxi Yunqi was acting strangely. He would stare at her randomly for no particular reason, and then she would turn her head only to find him focused on his book.
It felt like she was imagining things.
According to her memories from her past life, Gongxi Yunqi was aloof. Although he had transferred to Qi Li Middle School for a year, he still felt out of place among the other students.

She had no idea how these two ended up as friends since they are so different from each other.
“The teacher is at a meeting, so have self-study this period.” The temporary class representative rushed onto the podium, his face reddening as he made the announcement.
The students below cheered immediately upon hearing there was to be a self-study session. Some adventurous ones even tossed their textbooks in the air, before they snatched them back deftly.
“Quiet, everyone be quiet, no talking.”
The elected class leader, a significantly shy, chubby boy, was trying to control the situation, but his voice was too soft and no one paid him any attention.
Nan Fei leaned her chin on a hand, smiling at everyone. On occasion, some disdainful glances crossed her, which she saw but chose to ignore. However, Gongxi Yunqi, sitting beside her, had no such luxury.
“Nan Fei.”
A boyish, low voice sounded in her ear. Startled, Nan Fei unconsciously moved to the side. Turning her head, she found Gongxi Yunqi had moved closer to her somehow.
“What?” she asked, feigning confusion.
“The National Day holidays are coming up, and Huahua wants to invite you to visit my house.”
