Chapter 37: To Redeem a Continent
Nathan took a deep breath and squared himself, standing before the magical construct that had doomed a continent. He’d been confused when Sarya had said you needed a powerful wizard to fix a corrupted Seal at any time other than the solstice. It had seemed like such a simple thing after he'd studied the Gemore Seal. But now he understood. It was a simple matter to corrupt a seal, but the blight would fight you if you tried to go the other direction.
He ached with the strain of holding up the weight of the magic above him. He wanted to send his aura down into the seal to rip out the death mana poisoning it. But that wasn’t the responsible first step. If he ripped out the infestation by the roots, that might damage the seal irreparably. It also might not, but he didn't know.
Luckily, he knew what an uncorrupted Seal was like, and he compared the magical structure of the Seal below him to his memory of the Gemore Seal. It was not a simple construct, but Nathan’s memory was perfect. He could see the places where the blightmind had integrated into the Seal. It had worked its way into various parts of the construct to ensure that all of the mana the Seal released was Death mana.
