Chapter 104
"Is something wrong?"
Lost in thought, Tae-seo jolted at the sound of Yoon Seok-hoon’s voice. Only then did he remember he was sitting with his parents. He quickly shook his head.
“It’s nothing serious.”
Even after that answer, Yoon Seok-hoon continued to stare at him, concern clouding his gaze. Sitting close by, Kim Mi-kyung reached out to gently stroke Tae-seo’s cheek.
“You look even more out of it since you came back.”
Feeling a bit awkward, Tae-seo rubbed his cheek where her hand had been. He’d gone out saying he was going to see Se-heon, but came back looking dazed—that probably seemed strange to them.
“I was just worried. He looked really busy.”
Tae-seo let out a weak smile. Seeing the roughness of Se-heon’s skin and the shadows around his eyes had left him more unsettled than he expected. It wasn’t even that things were going badly—just that he was overwhelmed. And yet, it kept gnawing at him.
That’s why he’d ended up staying up all night watching Se-heon sleep.
“Times like this... I just wish Blessing would be born already. That way I could focus on taking care of him without feeling so helpless.”
Even if he couldn’t help with work, he could at least stick by him, make sure he ate. But being pregnant made that impossible. If he followed him around, he’d only make Se-heon worry.
Sensing what was going through their son’s head, Kim Mi-kyung nodded gently in time with Tae-seo’s sigh.
